Shrimp Crab Bisque
INGREDIENTS
1/2 lb shrimp (peeled & deveined)
1/2 lb lump crab meat
3 tbsp unsalted butter
1 small onion (finely diced)
2 garlic cloves (minced)
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups seafood stock (or chicken stock)
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup whole milk
1/4 cup dry white wine (optional)
1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
Salt & pepper to taste
Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Toasted bread or baguette (for dipping)
DIRECTIONS
1️⃣ Sauté Aromatics:
In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cook until soft and fragrant—builds the base for a restaurant-style bisque and sets up a cozy seafood dinner.
2️⃣ Make the Creamy Base:
Stir in flour to create a roux, cooking for 1–2 minutes. Slowly whisk in seafood stock, then add wine, cream, and milk. Stir constantly until smooth and slightly thick—this is your luxurious creamy core.
3️⃣ Add the Seafood:
Toss in shrimp and crab meat. Let it simmer on low for about 8–10 minutes until shrimp are pink and cooked through—rich, velvety perfection that makes this a next-level comfort meal.
4️⃣ Season It Right:
Add Old Bay, salt, and pepper to taste. Adjust heat to low and let it all come together—this creamy bisque is bold, buttery, and beautifully balanced.
5️⃣ Serve & Garnish:
Ladle into bowls, sprinkle with parsley, and serve with crispy bread on the side.
